The Golden Plains Wind Farm is estimated to create more than 700 direct and indirect jobs during construction and over 70 direct operational jobs!

The Golden Plains Wind Farm will generate employment opportunities both directly related to the construction and operation of the wind farm and indirectly through increased demand for goods and services. The direct employment opportunities throughout construction will cover a wide range of industries, from civil and electrical contracting, earthworks, temporary construction facilities, safety and fencing, right through to accommodation, cleaning and catering. At this stage, construction is anticipated to commence in Q1 2022.

Balance of Plant Contractor Update

Golden Plains Wind Farm Management is finalising negotiations with a preferred  Balance of Plant contractor. The process of advertising and awarding of project work packages will then be developed by the successful contractor. Subsequent project work packages will then be advertised on the Industry Capability Network (ICN) project page located at

Following the announcement of our Balance of Plant contractor, a series of industry briefing sessions will be scheduled. These sessions are expected to commence in the 3rd quarter of 2021 and will provide an invaluable opportunity to learn more about this very exciting project, including project phases, timing for tendering and our approach  to ensure local procurement is prioritised. These sessions will be advertised on our website and at our Facebook page as well as in the local papers and in our project updates.

Industry Capability Network (ICN)

ICN is a network of experienced industry procurement and supply chain specialists who introduce businesses large and small to projects large and small across Australia and New Zealand. All of our work packages for the project will be advertised on the ICN gateway. From there, you can register (at no cost) your interest in the project and receive project updates.
